I am looking forward to seeing our DCCW Board Members at this year’s Fall DCCW Board Meeting, on Saturday, September 17, 2016. The meeting will be held at the Bethany Center. If you have not sent your RSVP please do so by Thursday, September 8th, along with your $15.00 attendance fee. Please refer to your Call Letter for additional information, or contact me with your regrets.

Monsignor Laurence E. Higgins – May He Rest in Peace. The following schedule is from it: Monday, August 29, 2016: Reception of the Body & Visitation: Noon – 9:00 PM, Rosary at 7:30 PM

Tuesday August 30, 2016: Visitation: Noon – 9:00 PM, Evening Prayer at 7:30 PM

Wednesday, August 31, 2016: Funeral Liturgy – 11:30 AM Bishop Lynch will preside. Seating will be available in the Church, the Piazza, and in Higgins Hall. Parking on St. Lawrence grounds will be restricted to the handicapped and those continuing on to the cemetery. Parking for those attending the funeral only will be available at nearby Al Lopez Park with shuttle service provided.

National Council of Catholic Women, in the wake of the recent violence a cross the United States, joins the Knights of Columbus in their call to families and all people of good will to pray a novena (nine days of prayer) from July 14-22 by praying St. Francis of Assisi’s Prayer for Peace:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

During the June 25, 2016 DCCW Board Meeting, Mary Woltman distributed the tickets your organization requested for the Florida Council of Catholic Women (FCCW) Jewelry Raffle and gave directions on completing the tickets. Please contact her, if you have not received your tickets, yet. This raffle is made by the FCCW on behalf of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) with the Winner to be drawn at the FCCW October, 2016, Convention. Information about the FCCW Board Meeting and the requested tickets will be available at the June 25. 2016, Board Meeting.
